.If a house is small in size and on a small lot, you can recycle that house by just raising it up and adding a first floor under it. You will save up to 30% on construction cost, plus save yard space.

.Install reflective roi-foil in the attic rafters. This will reflect up to 96% of the sun’s heat penetration back outside, preventing heating up the ceiling insulation.

.Save water by installing a gray water system in your house and reuse this water again for the yard.

.Install high-energy efficient A/C equipment or install a fresh air economizer unit to an existing unit. This will save you by minimizing the running time of your A/C equipment.

.For additions to your property, construct with 2 x 6 studs, staggered on a direct sun wall. This will help slow the daily heat gain penetration from entering the inside wall and prevent a temperature gradient.

.“Prevention vs. cure” is the best way to conserve energy. Maintain the inner structure of a house from outside weather conditions. For example, install LED lights, insulation in subfloors, interior walls and ceilings, and shade trees on the south and west sides of the house giving you a temperature of 20oF cooler in the shade.
