• Is your water flow poor at a faucet in your house? Try unscrewing the aerator (you know the little screen on the end of the faucet spout). Turn on the water and see if the flow improves. If it does, then clean out the debris that is in the aerator and then screw it back on (be careful to put it back together the same way you took it apart).

• Does the vacant house you are entering smell terrible? It could be a simple problem to correct. Just run water in each of the drains. This will fill up the traps (you know those "U" shaped drains under each plumbing fixture) and stop the sewer gases from entering the house. This could save you a costly plumbing service call.

• Does your whole house shake when you turn on one particular faucet in your house? The repair could be as simple as a loose faucet washer.
